Episode 80: Deadly Rejection

The Murder of Junko Furuta

Rejection is a powerful force that often strikes fear into many hearts. It can be so daunting that some of us refrain from even asking a simple question, fearing the potential embarrassment it may bring. However, it's important to remember that everyone has the right to decline something or someone without facing repercussions. Sadly, we've witnessed the disturbing reality of women facing verbal or physical attacks for simply rejecting unwanted advances. In extreme cases, rejection has led to loss of life. Today, I'd like to share the story of a young woman whose journey in life was cut short because one person could not accept that she wasn't interested in him.

Conjure Tip of The Week

Rejection from a person simply means they are not for you, and rejection from something may mean come back and try again later. I want to share a few ways you can cope with rejection:

  • Acknowledge and validate your feelings.

  • Don't take it personally; rejection often isn't about you.

  • Seek support: Talking about your feelings with someone you trust can help you process your emotions and gain perspective.

  • Stay positive by focusing on your strengths and joys in life..
